More shots of our gorge hike...

Along the way we ran into a friendly giant

Elicia and Tenneal take a break to pose in front of one of the many waterfall attractions along the way

Cecilia hung out and took in the sights all the way to the top of the hill

she ate lunch & crashed on the hike down

Two year old Bella spends the weekend making Cecilia laugh

Steve and Trevor hang with their girls

Cecilia, so000 sick of that damn camera, is learning to hide under the brim of her hats.
(Doesn't Jen look great pregnant!)

Tenneal's father, Dan, is wearing a few different hats these days- he is our newest nanny, Grandpa to Cecilia......

........and he became Papa to Bella for the weekend as well. He has been a busy man!

Best Mother's Day Ever!

This was an exceptionally special Mother's Day. Not only because it was my first, but we also had Trevor's mother (Oma Lynda) with us. She has been Cecilia's first rate nanny for the past three weeks while I rejoined the work force.

Oma Lynda taught Cecilia, amongst many other subjects, all about horticulture.

She also completely eradicated all of the dandelions from our lawn. I did not think that was possible......Much kudos for that- as it was not part of the nanny deal!

....and my mother's day gift from Trevor. The coolest and most unique handmade locket with a beautiful picture of Lil C inside. The chair I am sitting on is also cool and unique- an Adirondack rocking chair from Oma Lynda. One more shout out to her- Thanks so much for all of your time, help, and love!

Trevor's Birthday

Trevor wanted to see the sunset for his birthday. I ran around the house packing everything we needed for a night at the coast, so that as soon as he came home from work we could drive west to catch the sunset. Unfortunately, we learned (or re-learned) that clear skies in Portland do not always mean clear skies at the beach.

Cecelia enjoyed the views nonetheless.

Though the next day when the sun was shining bright, she was out.

We fought off a five year old to secure the only cave on the beach.

Cecilia's first hanging bridge. Trevor's first hanging bridge holding Cecilia, with Tenneal constantly yelling "CAREFUL"

St John's Street Fair

Tenneal and Cecilia sequestered outside the beer garden. I guess 3 month old babies are considered minors. Who knew?

One thing we never thought much about before becoming a parent is how difficult it is to shelter a baby from the sun. A little dose of sun is good for Cecilia, but more than a few minutes of exposure is probably not too good for her fair Scandinavian skin. So when hanging outside for the majority of afternoon, we are constantly checking her for any direct sun contact. Here she seems to be covered.

Here Tenneal must be gabbing, neglecting her duties.

It only took three of us to shield her from the sun during this exciting outdoor changing experience.

Portland Art Walk

Lil C has to look sharp to hang with the PDX art crowd

Oma Lynda (our wonderful live-in nanny for three weeks!) and Tenneal pose with a sleeping Cecilia.

Trevor gives Cecilia a lesson in art appreciation.

Papa and Nannie visit Portland

Cecilia makes her first inspection of her papa and nannie.

Papa Tom finds time to teach Cecilia a little Shakespeare.

Nannie learns that Cecilia enjoys strong eye contact during a good feed.

Trevor and his Dad relax in the mist of Multnomah Falls.

A huge thanks for the scrumptious meals, stimulating conversations (some adult, some filled with ga-ga goo-goo) and strenuous baby bouncing.

More Great Guests!

"Who is that handsome guy? Is he my uncle too?"
Cecilia had another uncle siting this week! That's 2 down, 2 to go.......

Uncle Seth tries out the hooter hider.

Nellie and Cecilia hit it off, enjoying these tongue exercises and a few newly learned Tectonic dance moves.

Once again we put our guests to work.

Thank you guys for all of your help and love!

Another Great Daddy-Daughter Shot

Growing Contest- Cecilia ahead by a hair

Trevor can't wait until Cecilia can help out with yard work. Cecilia is not so thrilled.

At least Trevor is superb at buttoning and zipping up Cecilia's clothes after changing her. It has always been a challenge for him to zip his own fly.
By the way......what a gorgeous daddy and daughter shot!

Visitors

Scott stopped by last Friday for some frisbee golf, Thai food, and new born practice (he will be a daddy in July- congrats Scott and Becca). Look how well he holds Cecilia's head!

Erin and Josef stopped over on Sunday to sit in the backyard and soak up the sun. They also brought me the greatest gift a nursing mom could dream of owning: a Hooter Hider. No more nipple flashing:)
Thank you guys!

Cecilia got to hang with the older kids for an afternoon this week. Zahra & Felix, accompanied by their awesome mama Shaula, came over for a stroll through the neighborhood. Cecilia learned lots of new behaviors- like how to eat dirt! They will be such great role models in the years to come.

Thanks to The Crew Who Gave Cecilia Her First Set of Wheels. ... Now does anyone have some cool patches to cover up the BOB logo?

An informal, but heartfelt thank you goes out to
Moij & Sean, Amy D., Heath & Laura, Tony F., Carl & Deanna, Keith, Em & Jim, Shannon & Chester, Mike & Elisha, Jenny H., Chris & Michele, and Toby & Val

See you this summer!
